Mesothelioma surgery remains an area of great clinical controversy and debate which is only undertaken by a relatively small number of enthusiasts. Nevertheless the disease is an increasing health threat in the Western World and is likely to affect industrial nations across Asia in the rest of this century. There has been and continues to be many active research programs intended to further evidence-based medicine for mesothelioma. This special issue “Mesothelioma Surgery”, guest edited by Dr. David Waller and Dr. Annabel Sharkey, will focus on specific practice questions and their answers provided by leaders in those particular fields.
